The Beginning: A Vision Takes Shape

What started as evening figure drawing sessions in a converted warehouse space has evolved into something we never quite imagined. Back then, Priya Kellerman was juggling her day job as a graphic designer while hosting weekly drawing meetups for fellow artists who felt disconnected from traditional art education.

"Those early sessions taught me that learning figure drawing isn't just about technique — it's about building confidence to see differently. That insight still drives everything we do today."

Growth Through Challenge

When the world shifted online in 2021, we discovered something unexpected — people craved authentic, hands-on creative learning more than ever. Our pivot to digital workshops revealed artists across Australia who'd been searching for exactly what we offered: structured figure drawing education without the intimidation factor of traditional art schools.

By 2022, we'd developed our signature approach combining live model sessions with technique breakdowns. What makes us different isn't revolutionary technology or flashy marketing — it's our focus on making figure drawing accessible to adults who thought they'd missed their chance to develop artistic skills.

Refining Our Craft

This past year brought unexpected lessons about what really matters in art education. After analyzing feedback from over 1,200 students, we realized our most successful graduates weren't necessarily the ones with natural talent — they were the ones who felt supported enough to push through the messy middle stages of learning.

We've spent 2025 completely restructuring our programs around this insight. Instead of rushing through techniques, we now spend more time on observation skills and building visual confidence. It's made our classes slower-paced but significantly more effective. Students are completing portfolios they're genuinely proud of, not just technically correct drawings.

Looking Ahead

We're not interested in becoming the biggest art education platform — we want to remain the most thoughtful one. Our plans for 2026 include specialized programs for older learners, collaborative drawing workshops, and partnerships with regional art centers to bring figure drawing education to smaller communities across Australia.
